Well if you want to see or do shark diving in Hawaii or shark diving in Oahu - this is the scuba dive for you here in Oahu. Basically there are 3 fish pens set up to form a type of underwater fish farm. Inside thousands of fish are collected , waiting to be relocated to the island. The pens are like a huge house underwater that start from 60 feet and go down to about 100 feet then from there its pretty much nothing all the way down to the sandy bottom which is approximately 130-140 feet. That is deep my friends so using a dive computer is a must.

Of course with all these fish in the pens going nuts it certainly attracts Hawaii sharks. Usually what you will see is a bunch of kahala swimming around the fish pens taking cheap shots at the fish gathering around the nets who are waiting for the smaller fish inside the nets to tire out and float to the bottom. The nets are usually being pumped full of food so this also attracts other fish to the pens. I don't know exactly what is being used for the food but a looks like dogfood. The sharks are pretty much cruising around the 90-140 foot zone. I'm sure most sharks that thrive in and around Oahu stop in for a visit however you are mostly going to see sandbar sharks. I have also seen grey reef and Galapagos sharks here as well. Your chances of seeing a tiger shark ripping the nets apart are just plain Hollyweird.

Boat Dive Vis 70-100 feet Temp 75-81 F Max depth 140 Average depth 90

This dive isn't about blood in the water, tiger sharks cruising the scene type of experience. It is very controlled and as a good diver can tell you , most sharks avoid you once they see who you are. Remember to watch your air and dive your plan. Don't do anything stupid here. Save that for the driving in Waikiki on those scooters.

All in all this dive is great advanced dive bordering a little on technical diving.

*DO NOT THROW AN ANCHOR around the site*

*DO NOT TOUCH THEIR NETS OR SUPPLIES ABOVE OR UNDERWATER*

*Know your limits, dive only if you are a advanced diver with serious knowledge. You really need to be in shape and know how to dive- don't kid yourself here*

*Don't spear fish or harass the sharks*
